Brahmea hearseyi caterpillar
One of the strangest caterpillars. Brahmea caterpillars have extraordinary twisted growths on their backs. In their last instar the caterpillar looses these but keeps the plastic-looking skin. These are the fastest growing caterpillars we know pupating in just 18 days when kept in the heat.
