Glasswing butterfly

The Glasswing, or clearwing, butterfly (Greta oto) also called espejitos, is so called because it has predominately glass-like transparent wing membranes. This adaptation is a defence against predators, who find it difficult to recognise the insect as a butterfly when it is either in flight or feeding.
